Staying Healthy through Winter months

This is the season of the “Swine Flu”, so how can we prevent this better?  I thought I could post a few things that I love and that have worked for my family.

First, do your best at staying away from mucus forming foods (all dairy products, fried foods, refined sugars are some).  The bad germs like to hang out in the mucus, so do your best to avoid these kinds of foods.

Next, avoid sugar like the plague.  This weakens your immune system, so the invaders can attack your body.  Remember there are many forms of sugars, so just be aware of what you are putting into your body.

Lastly, strengthen your immune system.  Some products we use almost everyday are:  Colloidal Silver (http://www.colloidalsilver.com/).  This is a natural anti-everything.  I also make sure everyone is taking a good multi-vitamin (Rainbow or a high grade plant source vitamin-do some reading).  Then when we are going to be around a larger crowd, I will rub a little essential oil on their forehead and back of their neck (I like Doterra oils-On Guard) This oil has Wild Orange, clove bud, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary.  I also defuse this in my home when I have company.

These are all my preventative measures, but if someone does get a little cold, I have a few more remedies that I use.  I will write on that at another time.
